background
In 1999, the Post Office issued a special edition of stamps to mark forthcoming Millenium, each one designed by a British artist and celebrating something that had been achieved in Britain during the previous century. Channel Four commissioned a series of films to coincide with the release of the stamps. One was 'Liberation by Bike', a celebration of how 19th century women found their freedom on a bicycle.
synopsis
A London bike courier has a package to deliver. As she ducks and
dives through the traffic, she recalls her cycling memories. From
stabilisers to the Tour de France, she tells a vivid story of a
girl and her wheels.
